Cream Of Tartar. Most of you might think I am going to post a recipe for Snickerdoodles, not today.
Cream of Tartar is derived from plants (grapes, bananas, and tamarinds) as tartaric acid powder that has a number of great uses for cleaning.
Burned on Food:
Fill burned pan or pot with enough water to cover the burned area. Pour about 1 to Tablespoons cream of tartar over the water. Place pan on stove and heat to a low simmer for 5 to 6 minutes. Cool and scrub with a scotch brite pad or other scrubber. Voila Clean pan. This also works well with burner dripper pans on stove. Make a paste of equal parts cream of tatar and vinegar, rub on, let sit 10 - 15 miutes and you should be able to scrub of burned on build up easily.
